Hey @Bow , sorry to hear that you feel triggered tonight. So what do you think would be helpful at this time?

We just want to make sure that the forums remain a supportive place for you. Are you able to engage in some grounding activities? Or is there someone you can call?

We just want to ensure that the community is aware of the support you are seeking at the moment as part of the guidelines.

Re: My Mosaic

Just need to feel safe @tyme safe inside my own body

sorry I can just go. Don’t want to be a hassle

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Bow , you don't need to go. If you find that sitting with people here helps, it may be good to stay. I know how much you have been battling and continue to battle.

Does wrapping a heavy blanket or weighted blanket around you help you to feel safer? Or a self hug?

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks @tyme

im gonna go crawl into bed I think. D is at school for a camp night so I get to sleep in tomorrow. Wrapping myself up in my cozy blanket will help.

Re: My Mosaic

Hugs @Bow ,

Have you tried one of those electric blankets? Not the underlays, but the ones that are actual blankets? I wonder if they are any good.

I'm still shopping around for an electric underlay. I haven't found one I like yet.

Did I tell you I ate turtle chips tonight? I dove into them and then came out unimpressed. They were the sweet corn ones.

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah I had one of them electric throw blankets years ago for work @tyme  i was coordinating a house and there was no heating and I was stuck in the office all day so they let me buy one of them blankets. It was ok.

I’ve got a really good quilt, I zip a second one onto it for winter so it doubles the thickness. Plus I have my super comfy fluffy blanket. That keeps me warm. We don’t run heating much.

you need to try the chocolate ones. I haven’t tried the savory ones. I actually have a bag of the chocolate ones in the cupboard. Not really eating stuff like that at the moment though.

Re: My Mosaic

In Melb, all buildings rented out must have heating @Bow . I don't like wasting electricity, so I put on more clothes where I can, and then I whack on the heater only a little.

Yeah, as I said, I was unimpressed by the sweet corn ones. But yes, you've mentioned choco is good.

D is brave to go on camp. I remember she didn't even want to be away from you at night and just cried to come home! She's surely grown up!

Are you doing much tomorrow? Is your house all settled now?

Re: My Mosaic

D is still unable to do a sleepover at her father’s house @tyme  she has tried multiple times, but always comes home upset wanting me. She even tried last year after this same school camp and couldn’t do it. I will guarantee he will request to try again after this school camp. She was very excited for this school camp this year. She only has a week left at this school, so it’s kinda a nice way to end it.

tomorrow my SW is going to come with me to visit safe haven. She thought it might be an additional form of support for me. Apart from that not much planned. Still got bits and pieces to sort out.

Re: My Mosaic

Awww! Your baby has grown up!

Have you been to safe haven before? I haven't personally been. Do you know what they do there? @Bow

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah i went once before, years ago @tyme i needed someone to talk to cause comm mh were useless back then too.
I sat and chatted with a peer support worker. He made me a milo. They gave me this little bag with SH first aid stuff in it, stickers and info.

I think they are a great idea. A good alternative to hospital. Just a shame they aren’t open more. People don’t struggle with the mh between Fri-mon 12-8pm
