Re: Diabetes and mental health

thank you @Glisten , @Till23 , @Healandlove , @Dimity , @Ru-bee , @rav3n

yes my insulin nurses saw my last 2 weeks of my sugar numbers

and my mid afternoon numbers are in the high, so they want me to increase my lunchtime dose and write down everything I eat to find out why my sugars are high before having dinner

Re: Diabetes and mental health

@Shaz51 taking all that info in sounds tough, hope they've provided you with links/booklets to look at in case you forget things? wish it didn't have to be so overwhelming, sending you gentle hugs 💙

Re: Diabetes and mental health

what makes it harder @rav3n , @Glisten , @Till23 , @Healandlove , @Dimity , @Appleblossom , @Ru-bee , @Jynx

is that the Kidney specialist said it will be harder to control the diabetes because of the kidney failing

Re: Diabetes and mental health

Hugs @Shaz51 advanced diabetes is complex … sending gentle thoughts….

Re: Diabetes and mental health

I feel for you @Shaz51 because the kidneys clear things it makes a difference and needing to know kidney function and BSL. They are trying to work out the correct dose of insulin, which will be changing as kidney functions changes, so that's why they want so much info from you. Once you are settled on dialysis it will become easier.

Re: Diabetes and mental health

my mum's side of the family has a lot diabetics, i've heard from them how exhausting it can be to juggle sugar levels, BP, kidney/liver health, exercise, etc. the start is tricky, with all these new stuff thrown at you and trying to figure out what to do, but i hope that with time, it'll slowly get easier to manage and feel less stressful. @Shaz51 we're here for you all the way 💙

Re: Diabetes and mental health

Thank you 😊 @rav3n , @Till23 , @Appleblossom

A little bit of work here for me

My morning BSL are good 👍

Re: Diabetes and mental health

Ohh. Now I understand better @Shaz51 Shazzy. Excellent

It’s good to be diligent

Re: Diabetes and mental health

@Shaz51  Should be a trophy awarded for 'Most monumental amount of energy spent educating professionals about topics they are supposed to be experts on' no? 😅

Ach, I feel for you though hun, so many unknowns and uncertainties to navigate, be pulling at the psyche from all sides!! I hope you get some more clarity soon hun 🤞💜

Re: Diabetes and mental health

It's no so much about educating the health professionals @Jynx It's that they can't decide on something if they don't know certain information that, unless a person is in hsopital, they have to ask the person. They are asking for information to optimise treatment so @Shaz51 can have the best outcome

Sorry if that sounds a bit harsh, and you can delete it if you like, but I think people need to have confidence in their health professionals, the relationship is very important.
